Lynkr ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Lynkr mobile application and the website at www.lynkr.me (collectively, the "Services"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
We may collect information that you directly provide to us, including but not limited to:
Account Information: Such as your name, email address, username, and password.
Profile Data: Profile pictures, biographies, link titles, URLs, theme settings, or other details you choose to share.
User Content: Links, custom images, and other content you add to your public profile page.
Communications: Information contained in messages, emails, or customer support interactions.
b. Photos and Media
If you grant permission, Lynkr accesses your device photo library to let you set a profile picture or add images to your links. Photos are uploaded to our servers for display on your public profile. We do not access your camera or any photos you have not explicitly selected.
c. Information Collected Automatically
When you use Lynkr, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information:
Usage Data: Link clicks, profile views, and interactions with the app.
Device Information: Device type and operating system version, used only to ensure compatibility.
Analytics: Approximate location (country level) and referrer information to understand how people discover your profile.
Push Notification Token: If you grant permission, a push token is stored to deliver in-app notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
a. To Provide the Service
Create and maintain your Lynkr account.
Display your public link-in-bio page to visitors.
Provide in-app analytics such as link clicks and profile views.
Deliver push notifications you have consented to receive.
b. To Improve and Develop
Analyse usage patterns to improve existing features and develop new ones.
Debug issues and ensure compatibility across devices.
Monitor the security and integrity of the Service.
c. To Communicate With You
Respond to your support requests and enquiries.
Send important account or service-related notices.
Notify you of significant changes to this Privacy Policy.
d. AI-Powered Features
Lynkr offers an optional AI theme generation feature. When you use this feature, a text description of your desired theme is sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to generate colour and styling suggestions. No personal information, profile data, or account details are sent — only the theme description you provide.
e. Legal and Safety
Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity.
Protect the rights, property, or safety of Lynkr, our users, or the public.
3. How We Share Your Information
a. Your Public Profile
Your display name, bio, profile photo, and the links you add are public by default and visible to anyone who visits your profile URL (www.lynkr.me/username). You control what content appears on your profile.
b. Service Providers
We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services. These providers are authorised to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are bound by confidentiality obligations. The categories of providers we use include:
Cloud database and authentication providers.
Web hosting and content delivery providers.
Push notification delivery providers.
Analytics providers (website only, no personal identification).
AI service providers (for optional theme generation only; no personal data is shared).
c. Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Lynkr, our users, or others.
d. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
e. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We do not use your data to serve you third-party advertisements.
We do not share your data with advertisers.
4. Data Retention
a. Retention Periods
Account and profile data: Retained until you delete your account.
Analytics data: Retained for up to 24 months, then aggregated or deleted.
Push notification tokens: Retained until revoked or account deletion.
Backup copies: May persist for up to 30 days after deletion.
b. After Deletion
After your account is deleted, we may retain de-identified, aggregated data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We will retain certain data where required by law (e.g. for fraud prevention or tax records).
5. Security
a. Our Measures
We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
Encryption at rest for database content (via Supabase).
Row-level security policies restricting data access.
Authentication via hashed credentials and email-based one-time passcodes.
b. Your Responsibility
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at support@lynkr.me.
6. Your Rights and Choices
a. Access and Correction
You can access and update your profile information, bio, and links directly in the app at any time.
b. Account Deletion
You may delete your Lynkr account and all associated data at any time:
In the app: Go to Profile → My Account → Delete Account. Your account, profile, links, and all personal data will be permanently removed immediately.
By email: Alternatively, send a request to support@lynkr.me with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.
c. Push Notifications
You can revoke notification permission at any time through your device settings.
d. Regional Rights
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights including:
EEA / UK (GDPR): Right to access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection.
California (CCPA): Right to know, delete, opt-out of sale, and non-discrimination.
e. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the above rights, contact us at support@lynkr.me. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our Services. Cookies help us understand user behavior, remember your preferences, and provide personalized content. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. However, please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our Services.
8. Children's Privacy
Lynkr is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has created an account or provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@lynkr.me and we will delete the information promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Lynkr is operated globally. Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers (Supabase, Vercel) operate. When we transfer data from the EEA/UK to third countries, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.
